Like all major and non major brands you really have to search for a piece that suits your playing the best that it can. Either it is right or it is not and there is no way around it.

For what a Gibson LP costs, and my love of LP-shaped guitars, I should want to buy one. I've played enough of them to tell that while the Gibson LP I'd want to buy exists, it'll be a hard find.

The thing is, even on Sweetwater a Gibson LP standard is $2100. I'd buy one in the $1400 range. Once I start getting into the $2K territory, there's a lot of competition. If I had that much to spend on a guitar, I would probably buy a GJ2 Glendorra.
