These look more like Schecters to me.

The Desolation DS-1 ST has a single-cutaway mahogany body with a carved top and neck-through-body design. Features include a bound mahogany neck with scalloped heel, compound radius (12”-16”) rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and abalone inlays, abalone body and headstock binding, dual Seymour Duncan Blackout active humbucking pickups with three-way toggle switching, Charvel bridge specially designed for compound-radius fingerboards, black nickel hardware, three-on-a-side locking Charvel tuners, and solid and trans finishes (flame maple veneer on trans finishes) with matching headstocks. Available in Snow White, Flat Black, Trans Black, Trans Red and Trans Blue Smear.

Lose the abalone and I'd actually consider trying one.

That much abalone is kind of a deal breaker for me.

Yeah, that whole Schecter/ESP vibe. I don't know, I'm a traditionalist when it comes to Charvel..:embarrassed:..I think these are really ugly. :embarrassed:

I kind of like their offset model. THey have a plain top/flat color model with a TOM as well, but I kind of dig the blinged out floyd model.

Hate the abalone and the chrome hardware. Otherwise the blue and the flamed black one look great.

Hmmm, it looks like a redux of the semi-hollow Charvel/Jackson Surfcaster (I had a Charvel Surfcaster in the 90s), and the solidbody Jackson Outcaster guitars (which are kind of rare - they only made them for a year [I'm still kicking myself for not buying that Outcaster that Music Go Round was selling for $180 a couple of years ago - I waffled, and when I went back, it was gone! :( ]). I took a look on the Charvel website - they're calling this version the Skatecaster. It figures they'd keep up the 'caster for naming it. But why Skatecaster? For a skate punk image? That's lame.

As for the single cut - nah, it remnds me too much of an ESP.

I'm a self-professed Charvel whore, and the Skatecaster is awful.

The single-cut is very reminiscent of those LTD's I've seen.

I'd have to try one, but I'm thinking "Not Hot at ALL!"

The DS-2 and DS-3 models have much less abalone and will cost in the $350-$499 range.

DS-2's:

I dig that gloss black DS-3, but its the only one in the thread so far that's really grabbed me.

I like the ones minus the blingtastic inlays and binding....

The other model reminds me of the Fernandes Vertigo
