Just remembered I caused a minor controversy.

After you win they cart you away for some promo stuff.

It used to be a short interview but they've scaled it back over the years.

Last night they wanted winners to stand with a stupid placard that advertised the organiser for their social media.

Didn't even mention the awards or that you'd won anything so I refused out of principle since I got absolutely no benefit from it

They were dumbfounded that anyone would tell them no.

I've got a better chance than the guy who won the award after me. He drunkenly bumped into the table with the trophies which in turn toppled over and broke all but two of them.

@jbj ... are each of the awards glass like that? I would say that you need all of them mounted on a wooden base with a little groove to hold them... with LEDs that illuminate up through their cores. Not that you would carry it around, but even as a way to illuminate on a mantle and then you could change the color of the LEDs for Instagram or Facebook banners... Rainbow, Holiday Colors, etc.

Congrats! I’m probably never going to have a wedding in Scotland, but I will call you if I do. My sister’s having her wedding now, and they’re looking for wedding rings. Maybe you can suggest some good shops. They were going to buy them from Maroo. Does anybody of know this shop? I am just worried about the celebration and want it to be the best. They’ve already spent a lot of money on the wedding, and I don’t think they have much more for the rings. Is it possible to buy a decent ring for not much money?

The music league are heavy, heavy hitters. I like to think they're all potential Scottish Wedding DJs of the Year, if only they'd DJ a Scottish wedding.

This clown, after leaving me amazing feedback the week following the wedding got in touch roughly 4 weeks / 1 credit card bill later demanding a refund as a result of X, Y and Z.

My first ever bit of negative feedback, a refund was not forthcoming.

I'd be lying if I said it means as much at this point, though (and I'd need to check), this might be the longest consecutive shortlist run of any wedding DJ since these awards became a thing but it's still nice to get a nod - I expend literally no energy on these things but keep getting called back which is great from promo.

I highly doubt I'll win it this time again but once we've moved house I'll have a look and strategize if I decide to go big for it.
