Beato Interviews Geddy Lee

Alex comes in at the very end because Beato is going to interview him as well. I assume the Lifeson video will drop soon.

At some point Beato is going to run out of rock and roll gods to interview. Then he’ll have to hook up with a theistic Satanist black metal band who can bring back the dead for more interviews.

Interviews are nice, but if a theistic Satanist band can bring back the Dead, I want to see Jerry, Bob, Phil and the rest of them live in concert.

I haven’t watched any of his videos in a long time. If you’re sick of him, stop watching his videos.

Rick did a great job with this interview. He let Geddy do the talking.
NO, I am sick of Rick Beato and I'm going to CONTINUE watching his videos cause it give my life purpose and meaning. Make sure to like and subscribe.

Beato's interview with Eddie Kramer, engineer and producer on many classic records, popped up in my youtube feed. Very interesting and especially so if you like some behind the scenes stories.

I wasn't going to watch it. You've convinced me to think about it. :baimun:

Beato rubs a lot of folks the wrong way for some reason. I think he does a good job with his interviews, and probably the only guy doing what he does. I mean, who else is interviewing people that defined the music industry in its golden age?

I saw the Geddy Lee interview pop up today, then noticed he interviewed Skunk Baxter a year ago, and I missed it. Skunk is an interesting guy and has some great stories.

His interviews are truly superb. There's no one out there who does it nearly as well as he does. He understands how to STFU and let the guest speak at length without interruption. Some of his videos will be considered historic treasures, I genuinely believe that.

But the rest of his videos are often just him yelling at clouds. It's tedious and I'm not going to spend my time watching them.

I watched the Skunk interview when it first dropped. It's a great interview.

That's fair. His interviews are the best. He also knows how to ask certain questions that other interviewers don't.

It's funny the way people get bothered by content creators. I've trained myself to avoid taking the clickbait. I watch much less content these days.

Beato is, hands down, the best music interviewer ever. Because he’s probably the only interviewer who has every been in a touring band, recorded and released albums, produced albums, taught college music classes, owned a record label, and owned a studio. He walks into those interviews knowing far more about the music world than probably any other music journalist. I think that the interviewees respect him for that, and I think that they’re probably happy to be interviewed by someone like that. If I’d spent decades being hustled through 15 minute interviews by sycophantic dipshits who ask the same questions I’d love to sit down for a long interview with someone who knows the industry inside and out.

As for his other videos, not all of them are clickbait. I love the videos where he spends half an hour dissecting why one particular album or song is amazing and worth study. But his “CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW MUCH THE TOP 10 SONGS ON SPOTIFY GARGLE DONKY SHITE?” videos can be awful.

Well said, totally agree. His breakdown of Witchita Lineman is a master class in music theory. But I have to admit, I sometimes have a guilty pleasure of indulging myself in the “CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW MUCH THE TOP 10 SONGS ON SPOTIFY GARGLE DONKY SHITE?”, because I think a lot of them are.
