Barn Storm 2016! 10/21-10/23

So, small turn of events. I'm still planning on coming, but I just started a new role within my company and my supervisor "asked" me to go to a conference with him the week before BarnStorm. Meaning I would MUCH prefer to just land in Richmond Friday or Saturday (depending on flights) and drive straight up.

This means I either pack my drums that Monday and have them sitting in my car at the airport all week, or drive all the way home from Richmond after a weeks long trip, pack my drums, then drive to DC. Neither of which I'm very fond of.

Is there ANY way someone else would be awesome, sophisticated, and well-endowed enough to provide a drum set for the weekend? :embarrassed:

Matt (my friend from work that you met) may be able to do that. It's a piece of shit kit, or so I hear (I wouldn't know), but it's something.

You could fly out of Dulles, drive your car full of drums to my place. I can see the air traffic control tower from my street. Then you don't have to pay to park your car for a week either.

That might be a bigger pain in the ass, but thought I'd offer anyways.

Here's what Matt said:

happy to get it over to you. he may want to bring some cymbals though. all it has is a hi hat and a small crash.

Appreciate the offer, but the company covers the parking fees, so that's not an issue. We'll also just be getting back from my cousin's wedding in WV that Sunday before, have to pack for the conference and barnstorm (assuming I'm not going home in between) then wake up Monday to catch my flight.

It's starting to look like I may be closing on my house right around the end of October...

Awesome. Not a problem. I can stash a few cymbals/stands in my car. Plus Prages has a few of my stands I think he's planning on bringing anyway.

On a related note, any forumites live in Seattle? I hear it's only polite to ask.

I could probably squeeze my drums in as well.

I only got approved for 1/2 day vacation on Friday, so it'll be probably 7 or 8 Friday evening before I get there.

I'll for sure be bringing a small PA, at least 1 guitar, 1 bass, 1 guitar amp, and bass amp if needed.

And I can also throw my cymbals and stands (and Scott's stands) in there, even if I'm not bringing the entire kit.

I am unfortunately out this year for sure. I am getting married sometime this spring and my already very tight budget just had a wedding, honeymoon, and possible house purchase added to it. I'm more than likely eating a lot of ramen for the next 6 months. Or in my case - rice.

Congrats! At least you're happy.
