Backyard Regulars

How do squirrels get to this bird feeder that’s over 9 feet off the ground?
They will always find a way.

I wish we had Cooper’s Hawksi. I would hope they would eat the voles and mice in my backyard.

We used to have a mouse problem in the house until I installed electronic devices. To my surprise, those boxes work like a charm. My mouse traps stay empty now.

The voles have gotten out of hand tunneling everywhere in the backyard. Apparently, I need to attract Owls, Red Tailed Hawks, Kestrels, Foxes, Coyotes and Snakes. I see all of them around, but they must be finding easier prey to eat. The voles do not seem to be dwindling.

There’s an empty lot next door that used to be loaded with voles. Haven’t seen them in a number of years.
The neighbours have wood piles in the yard and they’ve mentioned that they see some activity there recently.
We see the occasional rat although they’re not too prevalent.

So, there is food here for the hawks.
