Are rolling papers still a thing ?

They're only a thing if you're out of them.
When I was a teen, we'd use pieces of dress patterns which are plentiful when you have two sisters.

Tahoe OG is the strain of my dab. Groovy is a pleasant feeling of contentment, commonly associated with the 60's and @Gary Blanchard. A quartz banger is a bucket made from worked quartz that is heated electronically (or if you don't have an enail, a butane torch) and is the vessel your dab is dropped into. You cap it with either your tool or a a carb cap to keep the milky vapor from escaping; that vapor travels through the dab rig. The dab rig is like a bong, but is usually designed for better flavor, percolation, and airflow/suction, collectively referred to as a rig's "function." A recycler is a style of rig that recycles the water throughout the rig before it enters the main chamber, for a nice vortex and smooth rip. Percolators are part of the equation to get the bubbles and chug that helps with vapour cooling, this particular one is shaped kinda like the bulb of a tulip, and has small slits cut every couple of millimeters.

I think it was more that the inflow of cheap mexican dirt weed was so good that nobody was willing to risk jail time to grow and sell weed. i'm sure people were growing it but you could buy a quarter bag of dirt weed for 20 plus the internet didn't exsist so there wasn't really Weed culture or weed fetishists. If you were a stoner you might read High Times but otherwise weed was pot and just somethiong you smoked to get high...not a lot of cork sniffing
 
If you lived in a college town, there was plenty of Cork sniffing. An average dude would have: Monkey paw, which was the ultimate,(Thai buds,no stick.) Then gold, redbud, Jamaican, Mexican. All at once. This was northern Michigan in the seventies.

And then Snoop and Dre taught us all about hydroponic weed. It made sensimilla a standard that people expected. Of course I was a broke teenager and could only afford Mexican dirt weed full of seeds, but I had a dream of being able to afford hairy female buds…heheheheheh

I was getting sticky Sinsemella by the time Snoop was in Kindergarten. Smuggled out of Hawaii via P3 Orion crews. Already had Acapulco Gold , Panama Red & Thai Stick. Ditch weed from mexico was what you bought in lids, but the good stuff was being sold by the gram in the mid 70's.
