Are all our SoCal forumites okay?

We've had our home and power at work shut off 4 times in the past 2 months due to the Santa Ana winds posing a fire hazard to Southern California Edison's above ground wires. I guess I'm on a bad grid.

I had to call 867-5309 and hook up with Genny.

You can't start a fire, you can't start a fire without a spark.
If you don’t have a genny, you could find yourself dancing in the dark.

We had the generator for our travel trailer. We didn't have the 220 chord connecting to our electrical box until last week. It powered most of our stuff for 2.5 days. Then the power came back on.

Years ago, my folks lost power a few winters in a row for long enough periods of time that they had a generator and transfer switch installed.

Of course after the generator was installed, they never lost power for more than a half hour for the rest of the years they lived at that location. :)

We had a brush fire about 10 miles from my house yesterday that got knocked down pretty quickly thanks to Cal Fire, Poway FD and SDFD. Now there's another fire that is 0% contained that has burned about 80 acres in Bonsall, which is about 30 mile north of me.

That's cheap insurance. This year I bought a pair of snowshoes at Costco in October. We have had exactly one decent snowfall that melted within days since. I keep telling my neighbors "you're welcome".
