Anyone here day trade Cryptocurrency?

The electricity generated in the U.S. is from fossil fuel is 60%, Nuclear is about 20% and renewables is 20%:

All charging batteries does is move the problem from the tailpipe of your car to the smoke stack of a power plant.

But, by the statistics you quoted, at 40% less emissions.

And It's probably safe to assume that powerplants have better emissions control than vehicles (particularly those burning natural gas, which most do now).

From what I know about mining and the particular metals required, I am not sold on the move away from combustion engines. I'd be more apt to stick with what we have and if the scientists really think that CO2 is the problem, they can come up with CO2 absorbers and attach them to all sorts of large emissions equipment. Example for air conditioners: https://mashable.com/article/ac-units-climate-change-carbon-capture/

yeah i'm not selling anything. i'm either going to go down with the ship or ride high on the hog.

thinking about picking up some ETH and a small amount of ADA next.

For transparency: I hold a small amount of BTC, some ETH (my most valuable holding) and close to 7500 ADA. I do have some other holdings. I liquidated all of my 'normal' stock today. It wasn't a huge holding but it was at a point in which it hit multiple 52 week highs in a short couple of weeks. So, officially, I hold only crypto now. That may or may not change at any time.

If you are like me, and you have thought about these things, you believe that technology won't be held back. Technology will forge onward regardless of what goes on in the world and more & more of what we do will be affected by the integration of technology. It is due to these thoughts that I see crypto as being an inevitable destination for humanity. That is how I come to the point that I will hold crypto through the next crash and into the next cycle (this one isn't even supposed to be over yet). I mean, if I would have sold my Bitcoin when things went down last time I would be nowhere.

Now one caveat about this video (it's 8 minutes 10 seconds long) is just to disregard the headline. Something about ADA getting to $100. Seriously...just look at that part as being ridiculous. All logic and reason says that $100 is not coming any time soon, but to me, the way that technology will be implemented, there's no way that this is not going to be worth many times more than what it is (just my personal opinion and it's less than $2 now). The guy is just an inspiring person when he talks about his goals and motivation...his aspirations.

Actually most modern cars manufactured in the last 20 years that have OBDIII emission controls are very clean burning, they are not the gross polluters the media makes them out to be.

That's horrible. Somebody needs to change that. At least there is twice as much natural gas as there is coal but still, our country really needs a push for renewables.

We don’t know how Africa wound up like it is. Nevermind, that’s all in the past.

Here’s my impassioned plea for laissez faire market capitalism and for recognizing how “systems” drive outcomes.

By the way, I think that I, a white man from America, can “fix” Africa if only Africa does what I recommend. This is a TOTALLY NEW SYSTEM, GUYS.

Moreover, the collapse of the USSR was purely because of economic incompetence. There was no kind of war.

Is crypto the White Nerd's Burden?

Care to recommend an exchange?

Lots of Americans like Binance. It's big and has exposure to lots of choices.

I chose ones specifically because I am in Canada. They don't have many choices and the first one that I started with (BitBuy) is very limited and fees seem quite high. I had signed up for Binance but I have never used it. Perhaps sleewell can name which exchange he uses?

etoro or coinbase both seem pretty legit. I like e Toro bc they have doge but coinbase is getting it soon. Coin base gives you small amounts if you watch vids which seems cool. E Toro offers 50 bucks free if you trade 1000.

Mark Cuban recently said the Mavs are accepting doge now and he thinks it has staying power. kind of interesting.

You can also buy Eastwood guitars with ETH.

Yes, DOGE got big enough by the 'community movement', FOMO, and people jumping in to take advantage of the conditions that it can easily become something now. It would need a lot of attention to be an innovative solution to anything but as far as it being a payment method, there's nothing stopping it from being that.

I have never owned any DOGE and I don't see me ever buying any but I wish I would have bought $1000 worth when it was a tenth of a cent.

I didn't want to bump this up but I wanted to add: don't look at your portfolio every day unless you are getting close to a goal or if things are running up hard (that can be fun). Patience is the most important thing.
