anyone ever hear of "Dillion" guitars ?

They make a line of semi-hollows and Solid body LP's.

They look nice. Get decent reviews, but I have never heard of them ?

They are kind of like a knock off of Ovation. They aren't bad. I got Prages an acoustic one once and it sounded pretty decent.

I had a Dillion Ovation copy for a few years. Nice enough guitar. Made in Korea. Played great. Sounded pretty bad acoustically, but sounded nice plugged in.

I really liked it. I only sold it because I found a better sounding acoustic for gigging.

They are a Korean guitar company. They seem to have a good rep for excellent mid-level quality guitars. I played one of their PRS copies in a used instrument store and it played nicely, but the strings were beyond dead so I really could not get a good feel for tone.

The one I had was an Ovation knock off. They make copies of Les Pauls and SGs and probably several other well known designs too.

I don't think I've ever played one of their electrics.

Yeah...

They have Strat, Tele, and PRS copies as well. Plus they are relicing Strat copies now as well - the sign of a great guitar company.

Hmmph.

Just curious. I got a guy wanting to trade me a '56 Lp Gold Top Copy by Dillion for my Gold Tele I picked up for a song on Ebay.

Just trying to do my due diligence. I just figure I'd play the LP more, but I am still stuck on that Agile AL-3100 LP with the Spalted Maple top.

I just don't wanna drop $500 - $700 on another guitar ATM.

If you're gonna spend that much, you're in used Edwards territory.

Edwards is a huge step up from Agile. Mine is actually so close to the quality of my Gibson LP that it's not really funny. The Gibbie still wins out, but considering that I paid $1300 used for the Gibson and $720 new for the Edwards (a couple of years ago before the dollar tanked so hard...at the current exchange rate mine would run $960).

I'm really looking at the P90 Semis that Xaviere has right now. $300.00 and I am lacking the nasty P90 growl in my tonal arsenal....

Well, this was a craigslist deal, and alas, it ended like many of mine . . . .

Pissing contest between me and some broken english speaking / typin asian dude who thought his axe was worth $500.

<sigh>

I guess the yen is trading up today

The best part was his last reply...

"It's no deal. I like Telecastre but could you put in maybe a petal or something with guitar?"

Man, I just fresh outta "petals", too.
