Any marksmen here?

I went nuisance hog hunting with my brother Sunday night. Used my AR10 in 308. It makes for a great hunting rifle. So for those that say there is no reason to own an AR15 or AR10 you are just flat wrong. Follow up shots require no extra movements, muzzle devices (flash hider, compensator) allow you to stay on target easier and get the ethical kill instead of wounding and losing sight of the animal.
People that say they are unnecessary and were only designed to kill people should really rethink it. There are a lot of things developed over the span of human civilization that we have found other uses for. Calm down and stop being afraid of something based on how it looks.
The "AR" platform modularity allows it to be changed and tailored to the job at hand. Caliber swap, barrel length, etc.
Instead of owning 5 guns I can own parts for one that are easily interchangeable to fit the need at the time. I can go from Varmint to medium to large game with very little effort, all in the field and without carrying multiple firearms.

Last qualification, 3, 7 and 15 meters timed with magazine change. 14 19 and 25 seconds maximum. 2 magazines at each distance with five shots each.

taking notes - nuisance hog, ethical kill

language built specifically for defense of guns. Interesting from a sociolinguistics perspective.

No hidden criticism here, I grew up hunting and my relatives on the rez in Michigan ALL hunt (women, men, kids).

I would however support a ban on all ARs (but realize it’s unlikely). We would gain more than we would lose.

If we use the guitar analogy....
To me hunting season is like having a big gig. Its important to do well and that requires some practice.
But its fun to practice, as well as mod, geek out, collect, GAS, etc.
And I sure dont NEED a pointy guitar with a floyd rose, just like I dont NEED a 338 lapua. But I kinda want one.

Having said that, if people kept getting killed with Les Pauls, I could make do with strats instead. And it wouldnt exactly be Bye bye Ms American Pie.

After some time at the police range with 5.56, .357, 9mm, 40mm, .45, 308 and 12-gauge. The big, ragged hole in the middle is five shots in three seconds with 12-gauge slugs at ten yards. The sergeant said "don't break into this man's house if he has a shotgun handy"...

Numerous strikes on the carrier.
Yup, story checks out; that's definitely a police range

The Nuisance Hogs. My new band name.

I went out in the woods today and fired off a box of .45's.
I am still breaking in my Springfield XD. I am shooting low and left.

how heavy is the trigger pull?

It's about 5.5 lbs. It should lighten up after a few more boxes of rounds.
low and left is an indicator of a little too heavy trigger, or someone 'yanking' it, i didn't think you were a 'yanker', so i asked about trigger weight :bigg:
