An interesting observation based on our last couple of webcasts.

I've had an Ibanez ARX400CRS for a couple yrs now- I don't think they make them anymore. It's kind of like a re-issue of the 70's Ibanez Artists. It was made in China, & was about $400 Canadian- you would think it'd be awful, but it's rediculously good for the $. It's got tons of sustain thanks to the beefy, 3-screw bridge, & it resonates acoustically almost like a semi-hollow-especially when compared to a USA G&L ASAT special that I've had for about 10 yrs, which is more "dead" sounding acoustically.
Pickups in the Ibanez are "blah" sounding, but I'm not sure what to replace them with yet. I don't see any construction/cosmetic flaws on it either. If it were made in the USA it would easily most likely cost twice as much, although it'd have better PUs,etc.

Same situation the the Epi sg doubleneck (aka- the "mothership"):

While it is a huge, rediculous doubleneck monstrosity, it's also a stupidly good deal for the money ($1400 Canadian new). Build quality is excellent, & pickups are very very good considering it's a Korean manufacturer. The neck PU on the 6 string hasn't the usual "mud" tone associated w/inexpensive instruments. It's a fun instrument to play once you get used to it, & the weight is no big deal- I've used it for jamming a lot.

Then there's ther other side of the coin- I play bass more than guitar usually, & my main bass is a crapola Cort Action V:facepalm: Feels cheap, looks cheap, sounds cheap, was cheap. The Cort Artisan Series on the other hand, is excellent, & not that expensive.

That Action V has to go though- thinking maybe a Spector Legend Classic 6 maybe.

& +1 to what B Valley said. This is also known as "The masters touch". I think it's a poem or something.
