A new Tweed Deluxe build.

Cooper was a shithead, but he was a loveable shithead.

You know how Lily and Sadie hid all weekend?

Not Cooper. He was always right there in your face trying to get at what you were eating.

Lily wasn't shy at all until the loud music started and when I was outside, both girls were hynotizing me to feed them.

Well, the good news is, Holliday does not have cancer. She does have some sort of tick-borne bug/infection.

The bad news is the vet took $530 and the ~$630 I made on the Allen Accomplice after eBay's fees. So, there will be no new amp build after I finish the 5E3 (all those NOS resistors and Mustard caps will have to sit until Christmas).

I did splurge and spend $50 to rebuild an old dead wah, so there will be a build thread about that new week.

5E3 cabinet still being made, this thread will continue once I received it.

Cabinet has been in for weeks, but weather or travel or illness has kept me from any HVLP spraying.

The idea is to do the way Sam Hutton used to for Leo in the '50's, a shellac basecoat, then sand/steel-wool any raised threads, and then a few passes of nitro. It'll yellow with age.

Setting up to spray the Seal Coat shellac ... cabinet is Armadillo Amp Works, he used hide glue, not contact cement. As for the cabinet and covering, the work is good, but doesn't necessarily standout better than the rest.

Note the corner...I think where it was sprayed it sat in a pool of shellac, or maybe there was a fabric defect, not sure...not a big deal. Next it's steel wool and tack cloth, then maybe a coat of nitro before sundown.

And cool pic from when I was out visiting LA (which I miss dearly)...only in West LA would someone drive a $2.5 million car to get groceries at Ralphs. My son liked it as well...

We have a guy here at my sons school who borrows ferarris and other $300k cars to drive his son to school. I've always wanted to leave my 1965 Chevy truck in a spot next to his car and leave it there for him to find when he comes out of the school :embarrassed:

Porsche 550 Spyder...only 78 ever made.

The most famous Spyder was, of course, James Dean's...

It was the car he died in...

Get couple of coats of nitro on, including one tinted coat for a starter yellow (I don't think it's dark enough to look bad after the rest yellows). A couple of clear coats later this week, maybe some more steel wool and it'll be done.

Just sent my Tube Chart to Kinko's (it'll always be Kinko's to me...Kinko was a USC grad...apparently his nickname was well-earned). Had to place a minimum online order for $1, so I have 4 tube charts being printed of 6 stocks...I'll pick the best stock and then try and age it with a little tea.
