This super exclusive Japan Made Limited Edition Fender Evangelion Asuka Telecaster is really unique, this is No. 534. Local Fender rep said 400 went to Europe and 100 went to USA, Canada and Mexico and a few were made for special private clients!! Very rare and hard to find!! This one is in excellent condition with no visible scratches or blemishes!! Barely played, just got it for collectibility!! Looks outstanding and sounds great....sound is a bit darker than a typical Tele!! Original case and COA included!!

Being Fender Japan, I don't doubt the quality of it. I have no familiarity with the anime series it relates to, but the colour scheme is interesting on its own as are the pickup choices and neck joint and I'd like to try it. There's no way I'd buy at the price being asked for though, it's still basically a Tele with a humbucker in the bridge and a decent neck joint.

Not entirely sold on the finish, but it's probably a very good Tele. I'd rock it if it was about a third of that price. :embarrassed:

That different color on the bouts, not to mention the misplaced stripes on the back, spoils any appeal.

Well that explains why I couldn't figure out the results when I googled for "Evangelion Asuka", I assumed it was the name of a musician, possibly from Africa or African descent (per the pan-African flag pickguard). Now, I really don't know what to think.

Don't like the pickguard colors but that's relatively easily fixed. Not going to look at the price and say yes.

I am a fan of the series (Neon Genesis Evangelion), and that is not a bad looking guitar. But the asking price is more than a little excessive. I would not mind hearing what those pickups sound like.

As usual for GPOTD there are some good things and bad things. Those horrid Alumitone pups are the deal breaker for me. Loud and souless. Not a fan of an opaque finish on the back of the neck too. The rest ranges from ok to pretty dam cool.
