While they aren't all my cup of tea, I have always though John's designs were neat, and I am a fan of retro futurism. And I think the Backlund Eastwood partner makes a lot more sense for getting them distributed than those high-end Bennett versions from a decade ago (did they ever get made?).

I prefer the Models 100 and 200 though.

I like a lot of his designs - this one isn't my favorite but it's OK. I do prefer the black/teal.

Price is not bad for a novelty. I wonder how it plays? And where can you try out boutique guitars?

I remember that a high-end shop made some prototypes. But he didn’t go into production until he did the Kickstarter campaigns.

I always admired John Backlund's designs back in the GJ days. That's not to say that I liked every one of them, but I loved his commitment to retrofuturist, atomic age design, and I'm very glad that his designs are seeing production.

I think the black and teal version of that guitar looks terrific, but I'd be afraid to buy it because I wouldn't live up to it.

I feel like I'd need to be living in a place like this:

and driving a car like this

to be worthy of that guitar.

And I'd have to play 'How High the Moon' and stuff like that on it, which is very difficult. :embarrassed:
