JD Guitars Ergo LS 2011 Natural/Oil

The LS stands for long scale. So.... the guitar hangs comfortably around the neck but the body has been “ergonomically" sculpted to be played seated, with the body contour resting on the LEFT leg. The longer scale along with a 1 3/4" nut width is great for those with large hands or who don't like too much crowding in the first few frets. The 26 1/2” scale is dual purpose. It allows for detuning and dropped tunings easily but also can be capoed at the first fret to “play” like a 25” scale neck if you didn’t like the fret spacing of the longer scale. Strung with 10’s, it’s a pleasure to play in standard tuning. The body is mostly Cherry with a center section of Bubinga and Walnut. The neck is Cherry with a fretboard made from Yellowheart ,Walnut, and Bubinga. A versatile EMG 81 pickup with volume and tone controls completes the electronics. Gotoh tuners. Ships with gigbag. Thanks for looking.

Gold hardware fail.
Ugly headstock fail.
Only one pickup fail.
EMG fail.
WTF? fingerboard fail.
Stupid strap pin location fail.

Otherwise, I would probably would have kinda dug it.

Plenty of blank space to put a speaker in...minimal string break angle...he could do wonderful things with it...

It's a solid body and doesn't have the feedback/resonance component the speaker in the soundhole gives. And, there aren't many bits to cut off and reattach. Totally not his style.

Tone down the headstock, fellas.

The biggest offense I see here is a guitar that is perfect for some fingerstyle stuff... but doesn’t have a neck pickup.

I guess you could Holdsworth the hell out of that bridge EMG with some chorus and volume pedal.
