Maybe a 700R4 trans? a 727 is a mopar tranny, and without a custom bellhousing to adapt the Chevy engine to the Chrysler trans, it just won't work! Surprised dodgechargerfan didn't catch that.

Actually, there are kits to mate the Chevy to a Torqueflite. It's a good transmission for high torque applications like a truck.

Although, there isn't much left of that thing that is "truck".

Why not a C6 or C4? C4s used to be unreliable, but they can be beefed up now to take just about anything you can throw at them
