The one in the Phil X vid is a semi-hollow with a spruce top no less. Even though it's essentially the same profile, the body definitely works better for me with the octave neck than the bass. My favorite of those, however is:

Moserites are cool, but I don't like their skinny necks. The Joe Maphis doubleneck is one rare bird! Larry Collins also has one. Davie Allan, of Davie Allan and the Arrows (who performed the fuzzed out introduction theme song "Blues' Theme", that opened the Peter Fonda biker movie "Wild Angels"), had a Moserite 6 & 12-string doubleneck for a while in the 60s.
