Note to self: If I ever get into building and or refinishing guitars, or ordering a custom guitar,,,,,clay-burst sucks.

I always wanted to try one of those. The price isn't bad...not sure how easy it would be to repaint

It needs to be repainted cop0

I can tolerate the mutant Antigua finish, but Parker Flys and me don't agree ergonomically, since the top horn had a tendency to poke a certain part of the female anatomy, if you sling your guitars up high (this I can vouch for from few times I've tried out Parkers).

The Parker Dragonfly is a far better instrument.... you can hang it from a wall hanger, the upper horn isn't deformed, and it's actually made of wood. :helper:

Terrible color, but a great deal for a unique guitar.

Buy it, take it to Mike Learn and have something done to the top. Maybe a Amir Derakh type Navy camo.
Keep the back the old color and it'd be awesome.

Despite the hideous finish, I'd take it. I'd even pay the asking price if I could really sit down and play to get a feel for its sound palette. I played one of the early black non-trem versions and it was very sweet. They were gonna be my next big guitar purchase, but life said "you've got enough and it's not going to make you better." Life's a bitch...seriously, and especially when it's right.

I saw when that hit Reverb and asked the seller for the serial (so I could determine year and body/neck wood types). His response was a little curt and off putting. I might have actually bought this if he'd been more pleasant. Just gave me a bad feel so I moved on. The price is great. I don't mind the finish.

Considering how much of a Luddite I am, I have two parker fly deluxes (emerald green and limed gold). I play them almost everyday. One of them is on a stand in the office so I play it while I'm online. The upper horn was uncomfortable at first but it encouraged a better playing position which I'm actually thankful for. The neck is on the thinner side but I wouldn't describe it as "thin". Its a comfortable wide elliptical shape with a little bit of meat to it. The fly is wood with a carbon "exoskeleton" overlay on the neck and back of the body. The guitars are very resonant and well balanced. I find the pickups to be the weakest aspect of the guitar, but they're not terrible. Just slightly dull.
