Suggestions for low watt tube amps

Now I'm looking at a Marshall JCM-1
I tried the JMP-1 and it was absolutely amazing, so I'm sure the JCM-1 won't disappoint. I'd just have a hard time dumping $800 on an amp that I could really only use in my bedroom, lol. idn_smilie

I'm really thinking bout the Marshall but I can't find one anywhere. To even get a price. I do want the Ep booster for sure

According to the marshall site it is released but I can't find anywhere that sales one

I haven't ever had something that's low and can be driven hard it gonna be a learning experience for me. I've never had something than doesn't have 2 channels

it also doesn't have a master volume.
True. The combo does have a low power mode though. It goes from very quiet to very loud though between the two modes. He'd have to play one and see how he liked it.

And Marshall did release the JCM-1 already this month, but I've found that it takes them a while to get to stores. It took about 3 months for me to find a store that had the first one they released in January and I have yet to see the second one that was released in like March. icon_conf

I watched demos on a Blackstar ht-5rh head and combo, a Marshall class 5 head and combo, the JCM-1h, a kustom 5v, and blackstar ht-1

Ever since I got my Class 5, that's the only sound I like, a full out driven tube amp with power tube saturation.

Are you wanting the lower watts because of volume or to drive it?

If you want one for a lower volume, the Class 5 probably will be a problem since it's fairly loud. It can easily keep up with a drummer and bass player on blues and classic rock tunes just to give you an idea of how loud the thing is. But if you're playing it at a jam or just at that level the sound is a thing of beauty. :thu:

If you're trying to keep a wife, kids or neighbors happy then that's a different story, lol. Well, maybe not neighbors… it's not that loud, lol.
