Official Pragestock 2010 Thread

I think I'm going to show up and just announce myself as Cheese Grits - It's not like we know what we look like.

Woot!
I'm-a make this work.
What's the rundown on who's definitely in?

Good question...

Probably everyone from last year for sure (me, Phil, Chihili Chewey, Aahzz, Tele, Lino) plus Dexter, Baimun have stated they will be there if possible. I just found out about an hour ago that my wife's surgery will be sometime in June, so that will free me up to be there pretty much 100% for sure. I know others were interested (2man, Mystixboi, ELO, and more) but I'm not sure. CFG might be able to go as well....

Plus rumor has it that representatives from Yuengling will be there is investigate an official sponsorship (Official beer of Pragestock 2011) - though we should hold out for New Belgium's offer (maker of Fat Tire Ale).

I'm a probably-maybe right now. It's only a hour or so away, and I have a tent already packed up, so it'd just be a matter of loading it in the car and heading down the road.

I can't say for certain because I'm finishing up college and drummergirl is looking for teaching jobs and all, so at this point in my life I can't say how busy or what state I'll even be in come August. But I definitely want to be there. Nothing is more fun to me than playing music all night, drinking beer, and eating good food, and camping, so I won't miss this if at all possible.

Oh, and what's expected of guests to bring as far as food, money to pitch in, beer, etc?

Also, can we get that set-list started? Drums and guitar are no problem and I could learn most things easily in a week or so, but If I decide to bring the Banjo down, which I'm barely amateur at, I'd like to be able to practice a few tunes (Avett Brothers, Seeger, bluegrass standards, whatever).

Yeah, last year we had

Me
Dave
Phil
Chihli & Chewie
telecaster911 (Mark)
Aahzz
Lino
Jimmy (local)
Mark (local)
Jeff (local)

Plus the neighbor's dog crashed the party along with about 20 of my closest friends (some of whom I'd never met).

If you attended last year, and I left you off the list, I apologize.

I can't imagine anybody that was here last year not making every effort to come back this year. It was pretty epic. :embarrassed:

I am making every effort to be there...finances and job situation are the final arbiters, and I won't be able to completely commit until it's almost on top of us...so......

...also...there is no possible way for me to pretend to be someone else...as soon as you see me "jelloman" will spring immediately to mind...:embarrassed:

Any decent hotels in the area?

I just realized that the weeks vacation I put in for at the beginning of the year is that week, ending that weekend.

You guys are probably a 6 or 7 hour drive for me. It takes me a little less than 4 hours to get to Dayton, OH, and whatever time it takes to drive down US 35 from Dayton to WV....

Depends by what you mean "in the area".

Do real airplanes fly into that airport or do you have to take one of those 2 seater Piper Cubs?

:cheese:

You're not far off from the fact with your assumption.

A 737 has landed there, but not on a regular basis. It's mostly 20-30 seat prop planes and a few smaller jets.

The runway is paved though. :embarrassed:

If there's ever a Pragestock in California, Prages is parking in Nevada. I like my house. :embarrassed:

Also depends on what you mean my 'decent'.

There's a Best Western and a Holiday Inn Express in Ripley, which is about 15 minutes away.

Everybody is more than welcome to stay at my place though, provided they bring a pillow and sleeping bag, and air mattress if you like to be comfortable. Beds are limited, but floor space is fairly abundant.

Consider yourself lucky, I live 11 miles from the busiest airport in Teh World.
