A few more shots froom yesterday, It ended up being a tech nightmare because of three different groups of people trying to fix something at the same time. I was big mad alll day yesterday. Also, we're still waiting for the toxic gas apocolypse to happen.

Mojo. Reading about the tech nightmare gave me a headache. Drowning your sorrows in Mexican food, instead of drugs and alcohol, is the lesser of evils.

A $1099 modeler (mark II new price), next to a $1099 modeler, next to a $329 capture box, next to a $149 capture pedal, next to another $149 capture pedal.

I can’t help but wonder if the price gap in gear stands out in any audible way in a band mix on stage? However, in this particular set circumstances, with the new console, and the sound engineer shit-show, I guess it was not a level comparison.

You missed the $79 modeler to the far left. The capture pedals sound great, they are just less flexible than the modelers. The Valeton GP5 is the only one that doesn't sound that good, but I had to add one more bass amp for another act at the last minute, and it sounded fine for that.

I wondered if that was another modeler on the far left. But, I didn’t recognize it.

were the singers on stage directed to look dour? Not a smile in the whole bunch.

Huh, I was under the impression that the Valeton was actually pretty decent. Bummer.

Video from saturday night:

It sounded great. I could hear the vocals, keys, bass, drums. The guitar was buried somewhere within the keys, so I couldn't make it out. If the guitar was removed from the mix, I'll bet I'd hear something missing. I'll give another listen with headphones and see what I notice.

Thanks! Thr bummer with this particular event is that they have 18-20 acts and each one gets one 30 minute sound check so this event is notorious for dodgy house mixes.

Today I have to have a tech meeting/line check at the church we do graduation at and tomorrow is the final "long day" of the school year.
