What Guitarist(s) Have You Seen Live The Most?

For me it’s 2 very different players, Alex Lifeson and Warren Haynes. Warren sings, Alex doesn’t. And, their playing styles are not similar.

I’ve seen Lifeson with RUSH 6 times. I’ve seen Haynes with The Allman Brothers Band twice, Gov’t Mule twice, Dead & Company once, and I’ve got tickets to see Gov’t Mule in Denver tonight. So, Haynes will add up to 6 for a tie.

(edit) I realized that with 2x Grateful Dead shows, 1x The Other Ones, and 1x Dead & Co, the guitarist who comes in 2nd place for me behind Lifeson and Haynes is Bob Weir at 4x.

Bob Weir for sure - buncha times with the Dead in the 80s, and even more since with his solo and post-Jer Dead projects.

Right behind Bobby are David Hidalgo and Cesar Rojas of Los Lobos. And they are coming to Austin soon…hmm…

Probably George Lynch....

I saw them on every US Dokken tour... a demo at a local Guitar store..... and a couple Lynch Mob gigs.

I'd probably have to put pen to paper to figure out how many times I've seen Metallica, AC/DC, and a few others.... Hmm.... Steve Vai might be up there. I saw him with DLR, Whitesnake, Passion and Warfare, a couple G3 shows... and I'm seeing him again in a few months.

Some other bands that I've seen a bunch had rotating lineups.

Mac and Jim from Superchunk, because I've seen them more than I've seen any other band. 15 times maybe... I saw Steve Malkmus with Pavement (5 times) and the Jicks (once). If you want to get hyper-local, I've seen James Canty both with the Make-Up and Ted Leo and the Pharmacists probably a dozen times.

For guitar hero type dudes I've seen Jeff Beck 4 times.

If we are talking about legendary non rock players I've seen Buddy Miller, Otis Rush, Buddy Guy, Bill Kirchen, Luther Allison, Gatemouth Brown at least 7-10 times each, BB King, and Albert Collins 3 times plus others I'm forgetting at the moment.

I had to think about this because I've seen quite a few bands.
I've seen only two guitarists more than once, Bob Mould and Neal Schon (25 years apart).

Eric Johnson. I've seen him here in Phoenix 6 or 7 times. Made a tactical error once and sat three feet from his stack in a small club that held about 150 people. My left ear rang for about a month.

Fox Theatre Detroit… fourth row for the Hendrix Experience. Surprisingly Eric wasn’t wearing the giant can headphones he wore at both G3 concerts I saw.

Probably still Kim Mitchell either with Max Webster or as a solo. I saw them anytime I could while a younger man. More recently it would be Joe Robinson but I think Kim still has him beat. I don't get out much anymore.
Probably Alex Lifeson of better known guitarists, I think I've seen Rush 4 times  maybe 5

I’ve seen a lot of bands and artists once, but few of them multiple times. I’ve never seen Bob Mould and would have liked to in any band, Husker Du, Sugar, solo, etc. I’ve never seen Neil Schon.

Looking at my list I’ve not gone to see anyone a second time.

I’ve seen a few of the guitarists posted in this thread including Bob Weir 4x Kim Mitchel 2 or 3. Most I’ve only seen once, Billy Gibbons, Buck Dharma, Kirk Hammet, James Hetfield, John Sykes, Eric Johnson.

There are only a few other guitarists that I’ve seen 2x, but probably not that many. Steve Miller, Brad Whitford, Joe Perry and Steve Howe come to mind.
