We've had a few tough weeks. One morning, Monty was acting weird and all of a sudden there was.. I'll spare you the details, but it was literally a bloody mess. Off to the vet and they figured it was either some kind of poisoning or virus.
A week later, after more visits to the vet, Monty was on all sorts of drugs and painkillers. Not eating and quickly dehydrating, shaking badly, hardly responsive. After a few more days, we expected him to go into shock and die at any moment. One night we administered the rest of the painkillers we were allowed to that day, and decided to give it one more hour, or take him to a clinic and have him freed from his misery.
About 50 minutes later he got up from his basket and went for a sip of water. He's recovering now, on a strict low-fat diet, but he's up and about and getting more and more active day by day.
I was so scared I was gonna lose my boy!
