The only thing I spend a bit more on is Scotch. I like good single malts and I'll spend (for me) decent money on them. But they also tend to last a year or two at least since I only drink it for special occasions (New Years, my birthday, anniversary of my Mom's death and when certain good friends come to visit). I'm not one to buy crap beer but I generally get what I like on sale so it isn't expensive. I did spend a bit more while up in Washington but that was because I wanted to try a bunch of different ones so was buying the 22 oz bottles

It's funny how people choose what to spend their money on. When I saw the $125 on shoes, I thought, that's crazy. I'm not sure I've ever spent that much on a pair of shoes. But for me, $250 on a reverb pedal that I am going to use in my basement with only a cat as a audience, sure why not?
I'll spend good money on shoes. Mattresses too. If you're not in one, you're in the other. Might as well be comfortable.

plus both massively increase your life happiness, productivity, etc, etc....if you got bad shoes (no support etc) your whole foundation is weak and it can lead to feet, knee and back issues. Mattress definitely can lead to back issues, poor sleep, etc...all that shit causes one to be grumpy and turn into a Trump supporter all of which just exacerbates the problems of the world..it's a catch 22...good shoes, good mattress leads to positives and bad shoes and bad mattress leads to negatives,

Which sounds like a goof answer but I likes what I likes.
Im allergic to shellfish, which limits my culinary options if I want to make something nice, so I usually go with red meat. A few weeks ago I bought a whole 14lb USDA prime grade prime rib...cut 4 big ass steaks and tied up a roast. Delicious delicious.
Re: firearms, I really dig revolvers. Not really into anything "tactical" but I like the precision of a good 6-shooter. Good thing is that they usually gain value over time if you buy quality pieces, so I can tell myself its "portfolio diversification."

Finding a suit that fits is always preferable. Altering a suit, other than minor alterations, is just throwing the designer out the window. Traditional suits that are sold together, not separates, typically pair shoulder width to a waist size that can accommodate today's average fat American. If you alter the waist on the pants an inch or more, you've just out your back pockets closer together. It's immediately noticeable and looks bad. It's better just to get your pants from a smaller suit size and swap them while people aren't looking. Many makers offer suit separates so you don't have that issue. Hugo Boss and European designers usually pair smaller waist sizes with their suits, not catering to fat people. The other alteration people occasionally get is shortening or lengthening the sleeves. Again, tailors typically don't move all of the buttons when they do that and the look is not what the designer intended. All of this will go unnoticed in most office environments where everyone is badly dressed.

the Kroger here in town has a sale on it every winter. Jan or Feb, where the 34 oz bottles are on sale for $4.99. that's a 20 dollars normally.
i still have an unopened bottle in the pantry with the $4.99 sticker on it. [smiles]
note: it is a display of maybe 4 cases, and that's it. when those 4 cases are gone....sale is over.
