The idea intrigues me, but I tend to get really uptight in social settings. It would be a doable drive and, of course, even more doable by plane. I must give this more thought but it would be great to meet some of you fine folks face-to-face.
I'm not exactly a social butterfly. I tend to be a little backward in a room full of strangers.
That said, I've met several forumites on several different occasions, and it wasn't like meeting a stranger at all. It was like you've know the people for years.

exactly. you talk to people every day for 5 years (or more) and eventually you're just talking to your friends anyway.

Although, it is sometimes hard to call people by their real names instead of their screen names.
I still call micwalt 'micwalt' even outside of the interweb.

Phil and Dave were pretty easy to get used to.
I think Howie would be easy too, since I usually call him Howie online anyway.
You probably wouldn't be a problem either.
It's all the assholes who have screen names that aren't their proper names that give people problems.

I don't actually mind being called Aahzz, though - I know you did it a couple times...
Facebook helps with this since I knew your real name but I know I called you Aaaahhhhzzz a couple times too.
And I am sure I called Greg Prages a lot. And I was also called chihli constantly.

I'm pretty much the same way, and have the same conclusion. The first time I met Prages & Mrs P I felt I had known them for years. Phil was the same way, along with Kyle, Alex, Mark, etc. I am generally very slow to commit to social situations, but last years Pragestock was like a gathering of old friends who had never met.

I agree with all these guys who said pretty much the same thing. Everyone really was who they are on the forums day in and day out, no surprises, no akward moments, etc. I felt just as comfortable in real life as I do hanging with everyone here.

I've been known to answer to Jackson. It's my last name.
But since my first name is Shawn, last name might be preferred to prevent confusing me with cfgsteak.
