I had an ibanez years ago with an Edge III, but lately i've been getting back into the wheedlies on my (hardtail) Schecter and I've been looking for something similar on the cheap. It seems that you can't find anything decent without a floyd for less than 300.
And all god's children said "amen"Hard tails are where it's at, baby!
I prefer a hardtail as well.
But if I need a trem for dive bomb crap, I'd rather have a Floyd than anything else.
Floyd Rose should be tried for crimes against humanity and all of the tremolos melted down and forged into cheap pot-metal blocks for indonesian stratocasters.

I know what's going in my signatureKelly is correct. Let's get her into a position of power ASAP.
I hate hardtail strats but i also hate the tremolo, so my strat has a full-size steel block, 5 springs, and is screwed against the body.I can't abide even a Strat trem and always blocked it, much less a super complicated Floydian monstrosity.
Bigsbys are just barely tolerable but only if they are set up right.
I've never really played the Jazzmaster type.
No trem is best for me.
Yes. except that it's still an unholy abomination in the eyes of god.A quality, correctly set up Floyd will. Not. Go. Out. Of. Tune. The problems are the cheapo versions mixed with improper setup.
I will agree that the music typically made on guitars equipped with these is sinister, execrable garbage. That's not the Floyd's fault.Yes. except that it's still an unholy abomination in the eyes of god.
