The line "Warriors come out and play!" was his.
He was also Luther in 48 hours. Jack was having a ball with that car door.

From a quick scroll, didn't see The Usual Suspects . . . . Manadatory addition if it hasn't been mentioned. Also check out Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World.

The sequel was called Debbie Buys Herpes Medication.

Close but no, no. It's got to start with a "D" like "Debbie Does Dakota" or "Debbie Does Dracula". Give me more.

Edit: May like, "Debbie Does Doggies?":abby:

Master and Commander was great, and I was disappointed that it didn't become a franchise.

The novels are brilliant. Military historical fiction is a genre filled with shit, from top to bottom... But that series is fantastic.

I'd like to give props to A River Runs Through It as a wonderful chick flick for guys. Good luck not getting misty-eyed in the last 5 minutes.

Very disappointing on the franchise. A little surprising too since Crowe wanted to do it--seems like he would have the star power to make it happen.

I am only part of the way into the books, but they are great. Interesting to me that the filmmakers jumped in mid-series and started with Far Side of the World for the movie. They did a great job of developing and contextualizing Aubrey, Maturin and the other characters without the burden of starting at the beginning.

I've read the first two books.

In the 2nd, Aubrey and his sidekick travel all the way across France with said sidekick dressed in a bear suit, the French soldiers accompanying them being none the wiser.

Kinda suspended my belief, and I never desired to read the 3rd book.

You probably hate Bernard Cornwell then, but on the off-chance that you don't, give the author Christian Cameron a chance. I loved his book The Ill-Made Knight (1st in a new series, I believe book 2 is out now). That made my buy all of his 'Killer Of Men' series he's done so far, takes place around 500 B.C. and onward in ancient Greece. That's the Marathon/Thermopylae/Plataea era.
