Superbowl Predictions?

AFC Championship Game: Patriots 38, Colts 18

NFC Championship Game: Seahawks 31, Packers 21

Superbowl Prediction: Patriots 27, Seahawks 17

At my age, I have gotten pretty good at it. I don't mind the game, though I'd never watch it. The hype, however, is highly annoying and infiltrates everything, even NPR.

That is why I am SOOOOOOO glad the Broncos lost. The local hype machine goes into hyper drive ten times over when Denver is in the SB and makes life unbearable around here as a non-fan.

I'm not sure I will watch the game. I don't get network TV and the sports bars will be jam packed.

I can't imagine living in a city where I hate the local team. I got close when I lived in Jacksonville, but the Gators aren't really local, but living there did make me hate the SEC. I have told folks before, there is nothing that could get me to move to Dallas or Philly.

I love living in Denver and I am a fan of the Rockies, Avalanche, and Nuggets. But no way can I ever become a Broncos fan. It is growing up in an AFC West rival city. I'm sure almost every fan out there of KC, SD, Oak and Den would agree. It's those rivalries that keep the games interesting and make the season just a bit more fun.

I predict that I will be bored to tears, and will end up ticking off prages by making snide juvenile comments about the called plays, random "lewd" touching of teammates, and team "outfits"
Now, now. If you can't enjoy the event for what it is, and allow your loving spouse to do the same, it would be best to schedule some other activity that you would enjoy more and allow him to have his fun.

And Seattle. Recall that for about the first half of the existence of the Seahawks, Denver was a huge AFC rival. I used to hate old horsey-face Elway.

And this hit that Largent put on a defensive player he felt had taken a cheap shot on another occasion is classic.

The entire sequence is worth a watch (shows poor officiating is nothing new), but skip to 2:embarrassed:0 minutes if you just want to see the hit Largent uses to deck Harden

I was gonna mention Seattle, but that is from days gone by now. Unfortunately....

I am a Seahawks fan by marriage. My hometown team is the Browns, so I am not a Browns fan having not grown up there. I guess my home team was the Toronto Argonauts, but who in fuck watches the CFL?

You don't understand marriage, do you?
Oh yes. Yes I do. I have been married for 20 years now. Or, I should say that I understand what happens in real life, and that it is best just to roll with that. But I often fail to see the logic in it. And sometimes that gets me in trouble.

As a kid, I could never understand Lucille Ball and her actions on the show, and why people thought that was funny. I understand the reality now, but still don't get it at times.

Live long and prosper.

EDIT: I want to go on record that this post has nothing to do with @Mrs.P , whose antics are clearly just good clean fun. And considering the bloated sausage-fest that SuperBowl Sunday has become, completely understandable antics I might add.

I could never stand I Love Lucy or any of the many clones. I was joking, of course, but sometimes the bantering is part of ways couples communicate. If it works for them, go for it.
