The un-dubbed version of Das Boot for sure...and of course Downfall...

I've watched Bread and Chocolate once or twice and enjoyed it (WHY THE FUCK DID HE GET ON THE TRAIN?)
 
Like Jello said, Downfall. Dead Snow was fun. I thought Mesrine was pretty good. Zwartboek was good. I remember really liking Ran after it got going, but it's been almost 40 years ago that I saw it.

My best memory of watching Ran was that I was still living with my parents. I waited to put it in the VCR when they went to bed. My dad came back down and started talking to me about something and then was going to head back to bed, but that's when it started getting good. He stayed up and watched the whole movie with me, really enjoyed it :)
 
I used to really like the caro/jeunet stuff (delicatessen, city of lost children, etc), but haven't seen any of them in well over a decade and I'm not sure they would still do it for me. Delicatessen would still be the best I think. Cinema Paradiso was also a favorite way back in high school
 
Kagemusha, Rashomon, Akira, Urotsukidōji. Urotsukidōji is like Salo, everybody should see it for the sake of realizing how a movie can be utterly horrifying without being a horror film.

I really got into all the crazy Jodorowsky stuff and the over the top japanese flicks of the 90s, Europa, etc.

I'll call the low hanging fruit of Amelie and wasn't the triplets of Belleville in french, it just set in France.

I just tried to watch The Wolf House, from Peru, but my DVD player spit it out at me.
