'The Prisoner was making a Statement'. That's a great point, I think you've just cut right ot the heart of it.

When you went to Portmerion was it full of Prisoner fans? The Prisoner seems to have a fanbase who are really, really into it. I knew a guy once who used to go to a convention there, wearing the jacket.

Portmerion is in a remote corner of North Wales. We were there on a dampish day (N Wales, surprise surprise) off-season so there were very few people there.

I wanted to go once I knew it was The Village. It's really cool and when I was there they definitely highlighted The Prisoner connection.

I still have my booklet I bought there.

I remember watching reruns of the Avengers and enjoying them a lot, can't remember watching the Prisoner at all. I too have stayed at Portmeirion, must be about ten years ago now. Well worth a visit. There's also a lot of great castles in N wales which are worth a visit if you like them
