Weekend Wrapup

Friday: Worked on restoring old table saw. Then went out for dinner with 1W and rented Idiocracy - great movie.

Saturday: Snow. Shoveled it, snowblowered it, hated it.

Sunday: Cleaned the house with 1W, ran some errands, more table saw restoration, watched the Superbowl.

Today: Complteted table saw project. Ran a new 240V outlet in the garage to power it.

The best part is that it runs great. Smooth enough that you can balance a penny on its edge on the table while the machine is running - and silly powerful. No extension table yet - that will come later. Next weekend I start putting it to work - going to get back to the hall table project that was interrupted by the acquisition of a new old power tool.

Tralfaz: I thought so too and asked for another colour, but no, there was just one colour.

And Puckman; I had an operation in December and my hand still becomes swollen from oedema when I work with it, especially if I keep it low. The oedema-glove keeps the oedema away when I play, it´s no real help for the carpal tunnel.

Ah I see.

Did the operation help with the carpal tunnel? I hear a lot of mixed reviews on carpal surgery.

Can be a causal connection...

Puckman: yes, it helped, but the way back was far more complicated than I thought. They said I should do some quite heavy training with my hand after the operation to get back to normal, but when I did so I got tendonitis and should then not move my hand at all. Then I had to start again from zero. A hand surgeon I know dislike operations and prefer a night orthos, and if that does not help, cortison injections. I was given the advice to do an operation cause I got diabetes, which make it more difficult to treat.
