busy weekend, was fun.

friday band practice

saturday went tubing with the kids. our show got cancelled. i went over to our bassists house, he wasnt there, got to play a few of my rigs over there at volume.

sunday we saw cattle decap. was an amazing show. they killed it.

Flew out to Denver in Friday.
Met up with some friends Saturday.
Hung out with a girl I really like on Sunday
Ate like a pig.
Waiting to head to DIA now for the flight home.

I'll do something with it. I tuned the two strings to the 3rd and 4th strings of a guitar to make things easy. It's kind of fun to play blues on.

Saturday: Weather was finally pretty nice so spent a portion of the day doing body work on my truck to fill in & prime all the BB divots. All 15 of them.
Sunday: Again beautiful day for early Feb so I spent the day out in the woods

Saturday walked dogs, played guitar, and read. That night we went to watch the JMU Winter Guard perform . It was really good. Spent time taking care fret sprout on a maple neck/fretboard tele I was hoping would go away by itself. A year later and it was still there. So, I fixed that as well as sharp frets. Checked level and polished them. Turned out nice.

Sunday: cleaned, did some laundry, played guitar, walked the dogs.

Work has been stressing me out so I took a personal day on Friday and spent the day running around the backyard with my 4-year old son trying to teach him to throw and hit little plastic baseballs. It's a work in progress.

Most weekend nights I retire to my man cave and play some guitar or do some gaming. I finally bought a proper Les Paul Standard earlier this year (the 60's version) so I have been getting back into playing more seriously. Started to think about maybe looking for another band after a billion years but central Florida kind of sucks in this respect (and many others!).

Spent yesterday putzing around and looking at decent low-wattage or power-switchable tube amps for the man cave. Something I can play every day but also potentially use in a band setting at some point. Have my eye on the Orange Rocker 15. After 15 years of using multi-effects and Line6 stuff, I figured why not go down the rabbit hole of being an analog obsessive spending all my money of effects pedals? What could go wrong?
