You know it’s really fall when college football is in full swing and the Halloween decorations start going up!!

Saturday took mah wife and youngest daughter to the Notre Dame -Louisville Game (Louie-ville for most… “Loul-vlle” if you’re from the area I’ve been told).

Showed my daughter this next one…. She was puzzled and I said “It’s you, bringing me my Nachos!” and I get this look :annoyed:

Sunday was trucking B.O.B (big ‘ol bones) and the new groundbreaker, Doug, back to the house and start setting up.

Gotta run all the electrical out to the guys and get them properly lit up. Doug required some modifications to get a reinforced cable installed in the back of his head, then a screw-in-ground anchor behind him, with a padlock holding everything to the earth.

I currently have two cameras on them, but I think I'm going to put a third from a lower window.

The Niagara Grape and Wine Festival signifies the beginning of fall around here.
It wrapped up this weekend with a big parade, concerts in the park, and other events.
The biggest-ish deal this year was Kim Mitchell and The Crash Test Dummies playing the park stage.
My buddies, Vinyl Flux headlined the same stage the next night - they’ve been the headliners for years now.

We saw none of it…
Saturday, we did stuff around the house and I played on the computer with kitchen cabinet software.
Sunday, we went and met our new cabinet maker, did some grocery shopping, and stopped in to visit SIL.
Then, we moved our kitchen island out of the kitchen in preparation for the kitchen demo which starts today.
I have the day off with our federal holiday for Truth and Reconciliation day.

Busy weekend and I am exhausted.

Friday - Saw Lucinda Williams and her band. They opened for Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs. In 2020 Lucinda had a stroke and she performed great. The Band was awesome and on the Dirty Knobs second hour (set), Lucinda's band rejoined to complete the show.

Saturday - Tired I got my happy behind up to go to a seminar for investments. Following that, I subbed in for a blues jam as host guitarist. Made for a long day.

Sunday - Got up to go to play some DG but the body said you go back to sleep as you need rest. Age really plays an effect on 25 year old mind but an aging vessel. Once I finally got up, ran some errands followed by some yard work.

Uneventful weekend. Had car serviced to include transmission fluid change. Cut grass, walked the dogs. Fooled around with my Big Muff…

…settings checking out Gilmour and Mascis. It’s not the version they use but turned out nice. compressor before, vib, delay, verb after. Since I’m not playing at crazy volume the compressor helps controlling the Mascis under control. Pretty awesome. Cooking some chicken chili now…

Schools here were off Friday and today so long weekend.

Thursday - out for a few pints and to watch the football. Really good away European result for my team. Met Mrs JBJ for some food and a couple of more drinks. Home and started watching the Mr McMahon doc on Netflix.

Friday - bit of grocery shopping then did some DIY, mainly sealing up the garage roof using this horrendous rubber paint stuff. Couple of bits I need to patch but it's looking hundred times better and more watertight then previously.

Saturday - chilled out then had a gig. Really good crowd, thinned a bit by the end (lots of older family members) but bride and groom were very happy. Wasn't too far away either so I was home and everything packed away by half 1. Couple of beers and watched some more of the McMahon doc.

Sunday - early kick off for the football so bit of breakfast then off to catch the supporters bus. Wasn't a great performance but we decked out a 1 nil win. I've been moved seat and this was my first time in it. Pretty decent. I'm up higher and off to he side (old seat was almost directly behind one of the goals so great for the 2nd half but 1st half you could hardly see what was going on upfield. Sat next to some guys who were near my old seat. Nice older gents so I'm happy with that, I was dreading being stuck next to idiots.

Out for beers with my dad and uncle after the game then home for dinner and junk on the tv.

Friday, I ran errands.

Saturday, I got in my Charger to drive to a work appointment and realized that the power steering was not working. So, I transferred my stuff to my wife’s Baby Bronco and worked out of her vehicle. At night, I went to Safeway and paid for turkey meat that had already been charged to someone else’s Visa card. Then, I grabbed dinner for the family at Arby’s, French Dip ‘n’ Swiss, au jus. Mmmmmmm.

Sunday, I checked the fuses on the Charger. The fuses tested good, so the power steering problem is probably due to a leak. Then, I lazily watched NFL. The Broncos beat the Jets. Yay team (2-2)! Sunday night, I drove my Charger, without power steering, to a shop in Colorado Springs. You really have to slow down for the turns without power steering or the turn ends up very wide. My son followed me in his car. I parked the car at the shop, dropped my key in the slot with a note and my son drove me back home.

Now, I await a call from the repair shop about the ETA and cost. I know the owner and he runs an honest business. At least, I don’t have to worry about unnecessary repairs.

The usual guitar, golf, cookin and eatin. And lots of sports to watch, as usual for this time of year.

Took some pics of the landscaping work we had done at the house. The new part in this pic is the little wall along the edge of the house, which gives us a raised bed for plants. The plants themselves will need time to grow of course. The goal is for the plants to cover up some of the vast expanse of exposed foundation that we have on this side and corner.

I’ve been buying Halloween decorations and I’m going to start putting them up tomorrow. The back of my car is full of light up pumpkins and skulls from Target. There’s stuff from Home Depot stacked in the living room. Black flamingos are in the mail. And I’ve got last year’s stuff in storage in the garage. I’m still debating the 12' skeleton. Home Depot has them in stock but $350 is a lot for one Halloween decoration, especially when there’s a $495 book on my mind. Lights are something else I’m considering but I’m probably too lazy.

Sunday, I checked the fuses on my Charger in hopes that the problem with power steering was something simple. They all tested good. My mechanic just called and the problem is broken electrical connections within the power steering control unit. I find that surprising and I’m trying to imagine how that goes bad on a 5 year old car. Luckily, this shop is really good at troubleshooting electrical issues. The part is a special order. It is expected to arrive Wednesday. I hope that means I can work Thursday morning.

Saturday, I cut some stuff with a chainsaw on a property close to my mother's property.
Sunday, I collected stuff that I had cut.
Today is 'Truth And Reconciliation Day' in Canada so for me it is a holiday. I went to visit my aunt in the care facility and they were getting close to having an exercise class.i stayed and did exercises with them. The heaviest weights that they had were only 7 pounds so I held them through the entire class. I was a bit damp at the end of that.
I washed the car after that.

Saturday - early morning chores and errands...went to my nephew's wedding at noon, followed by a reception that demonstrated to me just how pathetic my life is...

Spent the rest of the weekend and a good part of Monday in a pretty dark depressive state...

I did make plans for my next tattoo, though...
