Tomorrow's my new birthday!

Tomorrow's my bone marrow stem cell transplant.
I've been in Mass General Hospital in Boston for the past week, and tomorrow's the big day.
Thanks and a special shout out to the 28 year old German guy who I will probably never know the name of who's the donor (Germany has some REALLY stringent medical and business privacy rules. If you've ever worked/lived/done business in Germany, you know exactly what I'm talking about.).
But Danke! anyway.

I'll be in for at least another 2 weeks, probably a bit more, and shit supposedly really hits the fan around day +6.

It's been a smoother ride so far than I thought it would be. So far, anyway. Of course, it's the suckerpunch you don't see coming that knocks you on your ass.

It's an interesting feeling. I quite literally get to start my life over tomorrow, complete with new DNA.

Time for some new resolutions, like playing guitar more. Maybe actually LEARNING how to play the instrument instead of just banging around on it. Travel more. Stop and smell the roses. Do some fishing. Live life as fully as I can. Do no harm, and be proud of every day.

I already quit smoking.
I already quit drinking.
Don't smoke pot anymore, (but I do like a gummy every once in a while to help me sleep).

I might as well have a new birthday, because who is this guy?

Anyway, rock on MarkWeiners and try not to sweat the small shit in life. After all, in the grand scheme of things, it's just that.....small shit.

Congrats on the successes and mojo for the upcoming trials! although considering what you've already overcome, no sweat, right?

Mmmm....bone marrow....
