This is why aquapel is awesome

It got above 50 yesterday and today so I took the opportunity to treat our car windows to some aquapel

If you've ever used rain-x, this is nothing like it.....aquapel actually works and buffs out clear.

Here's my wife's windshield after I hosed off the winter grime and salt from her car....as I get going about 25-30 miles per hour, you can see the water just fly off the glass. We get about 5-6 months out of an application. Massive difference in visibility.

Car Pro's Fly By 30 is supposed to be pretty effective as well. I might give that a shot next time around.

I use it on my cars. It really works great. We use the same silane type chemicals to coat laboratory glass.

It lasts about 4-5 months for me.

I've used both rain-x and aquapel, and aquapel is a much, much better product.

Pro tip: you can buy just the applicators in bulk (not in retail packaging) on amazon for much less than the version in stores.

When I did my Wife's car windows w/ aquapel, I did mine at the same time. Her car is still going strong @ just over 4 months, outside 24/7 through a pretty harsh winter. Mine, not so much.

Since there are so many different glass sealants on the market, I figured I try something new.

It has two lousy reviews on Amazon but pretty positive feedback on a couple detailing forums. $10 and enough to treat the windows multiple times...why not? Applied it last night around 6pm and over night we had a bunch of rain while the car was sitting. Nothing forcasted for the next few days so I'll have to wait and see how the hydrophobic properties compare.

The problem with Rain-X is when you do need to use your wipers, they begin to chatter and aren't effective. Does Aquapel do the same thing?

Meh.....so far I'd say Nanoskin rain sealant is probably on par with rainx. Definitely not aquapel levels of roll off.
