Things you see in a foreign city . . .

Is the beer Green Dragon worthy?
Will report back. I am a hop fan, and they have more traditional English ales rather than IPA it looks like. But that makes sense as generally hobbits do not like to travel and IPA was made for traveling. Maybe Bilbo, Frodo and etc. warmed up to hopper ales. But they cut their teeth on traditional rural ales more based on the grains I bet.

How is that for Hobbit and beer nerd speak? ;-)

Actually, the beer and pot pie was very good. And when traveling in a family of five with teenagers and young adults, if someone is hungry, we take care of it hopefully before it turns into hangry.
Last time I ate at an airport I got food poisoning. Not fun. I just bring protein bars with me now.

@Denverdave
So the short answer is yes, the beer was worthy. Bigger report later.

Well, that was super-fun! The original LOTR sets were just plywood and polystyrene and were pretty much thrown away. But when they did the Hobbit movies, Jackson approached the owner of the land and proposed a partnership as people had been visiting the farm where the land is to find the remnants of the old sets anyway. So they rebuilt everything with wood, stone, etc. And everything looks great.

As far as the beer, the ones available were what I expected, and were well done. No Maritime or hopped travel to India or west coast hoppy IPA/APA here. Or even British IPA. A cider, an English Bitter style amber ale focusing the grains, and a very good stout were the offerings. Pretty damn tasty!

PS, Sorry for all the vacation pics, and especially posed pics at a tourist attraction. But I couldn't help myself.
