Here's Callie, she was about 6 years old here. I got her from a rescue exactly 1 week after my previous dog Marvin died. I wasn't really planning on getting one that early but I love dogs so much i just started looking around. i found her through petfinder and in fact i was originally looking at a different dog from the same rescue but the lady told me he had some "issues" and she suggested this one (funny but every dog i've ever had on my own has been a "second" pic). She is some kinda Border Collie, shepard, cattle dog mix. She is truly the smartest dog I have ever known. She also never barks, maybe 8 times in 10 years i've heard her bark.
Callie has been the traveling/adventure dog. She has been almost literally all over Arizona camping , she has been to nevada, California, Colorado 9twice), Utah (twice), new Mexico (about 6 times)....hiking , camping and off roading/exploring ...those were her favorite things other than Food and daily walks. She's getting old now, and doesn't go on many walks because she is so stiff but she still is totally alert, mentally fine and still loves her food. Some highlights include...getting snowed in/stuck for three days in central AZ on a camping trip. Getting stuck overnight and almost rolling the Nissan four wheeling, traveling to Colorado, Utah, too many hikes to even consider. She has been my shadaw and always there for me
Sonny I got october 2016 when he was 6 months old. i got him from the green valley animal League (between Tucson and Nogales), again he was a 'second choice" I originally went to look at a pure Cattle dog that was 1 year old and a male but he kept nipping at Callies heels and trying to play with her. the man suggested it was too much of an age difference and activity level. A second lady there (i'm so glad she worked there) suggested 'this other dog" they knew i wanted a cattle dog / energetic type and she said 'this dog is really sweet and high energy but he's a really neat dog and I think he'd get along with Callie" saure as shit he came in to meet Callie and they just sniffed each other and then kinda paid no mind and sdid there own thing. Turns out he was was adopted previously along with his twin sister (Cher...Sonny and Cher) by a girl who was attending school to be a vet. She kept Cher but returned Sonny stating it was just too much having too puppies. Her loss , my gain
I actually got a DNA test on Sonny and he has pretty much everything under the sun as you can see here....
anyway Sonny is a total nut (but in a good way) He's the only puppie I've ever had (my others were about 2 and 3 when I got them) and it's neat to watch his growth. His absolute favorite thing in the world to do is to run. He has boundless energy and if you've ever seen videos of Husky teams before a run, that is pretty much him. On trails he's more reserved but on a morning walk if he is itching to run he starts leaping, whinning and barkin' and bayin' (like a hound dog). he's pretty goofy and I love him. He can be the most gentle dog (loves giving kisses) and on the opposite end he is the worlds (well at least the neighborhoods) worst walker

....but he's getting better. He also just started staying out of his kennel all day while I'm at work and he's doing great (knock on wood0. I have yet to go camping with him or traveling but that day will come eventually...right now he's happy as a bug in a rug just to go running
Here he is at about 8 months old
and here's a pic that sums up his goofy personality pretty well....he hopped into the enclosed tree area to eat olives from it (he's in the right corner)
