SOLD! Very Nice Larrivee D-03R

Are you are alluding to your thread on the LGF?

Your terms of sale, check only & requiring it to clear, while not totally unreasonable, isn't really the norm these days for forum sales that many people might be used to. You do have to consider the POV of the potential buyer from a forum listing, especially one where you don't have a long history of completing trouble free transactions, is putting a lot of faith in your honesty. If you were a scammer, their only recourse would be to have the forum ban you and contact the police in the jurisdiction you reside. Not really confidence inspiring. The forum admins can't really compel a fair resolution to a dispute. ........which are all the same reasons why you want the cash up front.

Either way, a local sale was your best bet. Glad that it worked out.

yup; that thread. did not realize that paypal is so prevalent in these deals. understand your concerns (essentially the same as the potential buyer I guess). to tell the truth, it seemed to me he might be 'building a case' to get the guitar, try it and return it (thought his style a bit heavy-handed, maybe it was just that-his manner of communication).... and perhaps my paranoia is heightened by my frequent use of your fine, blue product (an attempt at humour).

anyway, he even posted a congratulatory message there, so no hard feelings either way....

I have mostly bought/sold cars in the manner I set out in the ad- even a couple of high-dollar collectibles and race cars, so that is my frame of reference. believe it or not, a lot of guys buy vehicles, unseen, via such ads.....
live and learn
