I just read a piece by Hunter not too long ago talking about his career. I forgot to notice exactly when it was written. Wiki says he's legally blind.

Buxton was earlier. Hunter/Wagner came in mid 70's

I met him and jammed with him at BC Rich's original little shop in LA. I was 16 and came in to complain about my eagle, Bernardo handed it to Dick and asked him what he thought. He played it and I got to play Dick's mockingbird. Turns out the buzzing sound in my neck was a lightly tightened truss rod that had come loose because the neck was perfectly straight and didn't need any tension. Anyway, short little encounter with one of my guitar heroes from that time. Lou Reed's Rock n Roll Animal was one of the seventies great rock guitar albums - Lou hardly needed to show up for that one.
