In Houston we had a "derecho" that completely shut down downtown a few weeks ago, and last week a direct hit from a hurricane. Some people still are without power, and some traffic lights are still down. In San Marcos a couple months ago we had a furious thunder/windstorm that may or may not have included a tornado.
Other than that, has been pretty quiet.

We’ve had a pleasant break from the oppressive heat and humidity the last few days.
Weather has been damn near perfect, clear skies, highs in the mid to upper 80s and lows in low 70s-upper 60s.
It’s dry as a bone though. Some rain out of this gulf disturbance would be nice.

There’s a weather alert for the wind.
I expected the facia on the front of the house to get gone, and it did.
It eventually fell off and landed in the front garden.
I’ve got it in the garage now, but it’s beat to shit.
I was marvelling all day at how well my car shelter was holding up.
I happened to look out my office window when it let go.
I am pretty sure that something hit it a tore a hole in one side and then the wind just opened it up.
The car cover blew off as well, but didn’t get far.
The NewPorker is gonna get wet.

Weird, old men haven't talked about the weather since January 27th.
We have a dusting of snow right now, it's not supposed to start till tonight. It's already windy. We lost electricity for 5 minutes, been 2 or 3 years since we lost it for a second or, two.
What I can't get over is even down here, this is supposed to be lake effect snow. First time I remember lake effect snow for anybody but Chicago and Northwest Indiana.

We had snow Nov 7th last year. Starting Monday, highs in the 60’s for 5 days. 35% chance of snow on Saturday, the 15th.
I’m glad we have a few more days of warm weather. I still have the outside of 2 door panels to paint as well as some stucco touch ups to paint. I’ve already prepared and painted 5 door jambs, headers, outside trim, garage doors and outside stucco. More than 3 gallons of white paint and 75% of a 5 gallon bucket full of light yellow paint.
