Yes my amp history will bore you all.
In total:
Fender Musicmaster Bass
Peavy TKO75
Squire Little practice amp
Kustom 12 Gauge
Fender Mustang 1
Various modeling pedals into Kustom 12 Gauge
Lately I've gotten real tired of modeling and various menus just to tweak my amp tone, so I starting thinking of getting an amp with an effects loop and enough tweakability to run in the effects loop of my MX5. Then I decided that 95% of what I do with the MX5 is Chase the same tone of amp with a bit of reverb and use pedal mods to get amp type drives.
I'm not a tube guy, because I've played SolidState amps that I've loved and some tube amps that I've hated so I feel "sounds good, is good". Started looking used for what I could get and found that two amp companies go for ridiculously low prices for what they are Peavey and Hughes & Kettner.
Found a H&K Tour Reverb which is way too much amp than I'll ever be able to use to it's potential for 140 bucks. I watched the listing for a while and tried to sell my MX5 to pay for it.
Today the price dropped and I got a notice, when I looked at the listing I thought "if it's still there on pay day I'll have to grab it" sent the listing to my wife and she surprisingly jumped and told me to go grab it today.
Incredibly clean condition, incredibly versatile. Clean channel has dedicated EQ (which I love) each of the 3 channels has its own volume. Drive channel has a voicing knob to change the character. The crunch channel does what is missing from many SS amps and that's the clean with barely breaking up when you dig in sound. Really does dial in everything from Velvet Jazz to Metal. Nobody I know makes a dedicated SS amp these days with this many features.
Maybe someone here had one and hated it IDK... But I'm really into this thing.
I'm a very happy man right now.
