I just added up the posts from our top 10 posters... Mark, Howie, Kerouac, DenverDave, Phil513, Peeker, Elias, Reverend1, Prages, and myself..... 371,302.

That means of the 2,109 members here.... TEN of them contributed to over a quarter of that million.

If I add ModernSaint and GaryBlanchard... 404,477... a third of all the posts here.

So, I did a little bit of digging to sort out this one million posts thing.

According to the post ID number, this is the millionth post:

That would take into account deleted posts from spammers and stuff like that.

That happened on July 30.
So, that means that the statistics shown on the forum home page uses the number of records in the database as the counter.

In that context, this is the millionth post because it is the millionth record in the data base (currently, and hopefully no older posts have been deleted n the last couple of days.)

The thing about this database record method is that if older posts are ever deleted, say in a purge, then the millionth record will be something else.

It is what it is.

I say post ID is the way to go because that represents the millionth post ever made on the forum, deleted or not.
