But after watching Elon lose his mind and botch the Cybertruck so spectacularly bad.... I see it as a design demo that can do rich people party tricks... and will end up driving that way. Cool party trick that feels like a video game after a while.
Meanwhile....
Porsche has unveiled their Mission S prototype.
A spectacularly clean, beautiful drivers car that pays homage to the GT1, the 959, and even the 917 racer (that circular cooling fan over the mid-mounted engine). Yes it will have a gasoline engine!!!
The interior is clean and purposeful.... the gauges physically move into different places depending on the drive mode... and the center console doesn't even have a big screen. There are physical controls for the climate, and a retractable magnetic mount for your phone. (what most people already do for nav and music).
Yes it's going to be a ridiculously expensive rich boy toy.... but it's not going to be artificially limited numbers which means there's a better chance we'll see some on the road in a variety of colors!

We should be phasing out cars and focusing on better transportation infrastructure and planning and mass transit and a more humane way of being that doesn’t require everyone to make a hurried days journey each way just to sit in a room and do virtual meetings and make PowerPoints five days a week.
Flying cars are an abomination. Silly stuff for false futurists. Let’s end driving in our lifetime!
