I would fucking kill for an Italian beef or Chicago-style Vienna dog...
I have a great little hole-in-the-wall place in Kalamazoo I can go to for a good Italian beef/combo. He has two tables and a small shelf that maybe 3-4 people can stand at and eat...literally a hole-in-the-wall restaurant. But, man, the food there is great :)
 
I think I've converged on dry, hot, (maybe mozz if I'm in the mood) as my order. It really is the giadiniera that makes it (or breaks it, if it's shitty giardiniera) for me, though.
 
We have a place here in Denver where I can get that already.
The owners are from Chicago, and the ship everything in.
Pricey, but good.
