Your Worst Nightmare
I've been going pretty deep into the square neck resonator, often called a dobro, the last handful of months. My first one was a used Chinese-made Gold Tone, and now that I've been making a lot of progress, I decided to treat myself with an American guitar BABAY!
I had been watching various used Beards on Reverb and eBay but had to jump on this beauty, coming in at about half the cost of a new lowest-tier Beard.
Tut Taylor was a famous dobro player and collector back in the day. His son, Mark Taylor, started making these decades ago with Crafters of Tennessee, but he no longer builds them.
This model is called The Virginian, was built in 2001, and as you can see is made of all maple. It sounds very bright and has that beautiful resonator decay.
