Yep.
I have a vintage Hagstrom Vik II, not completely original and a bit modded, incoming. I am ok with some hackery if it came out good enough, and will work well. and I think I will like the old Dimarzios that are in there, even if they had to hack it up a bit to get them to fit.
I will be getting rid of two other guitars, including my red modern Hag I got in 2008, as part of a slow downsizing process, along with a Mexican Jazzmaster I didn't ever bond with, and which ground is covered by well enough by my tele and other guitars. This guitar, due to the mods that were done, was available at a nice price, and I thought I would enjoy having the real Swedish thing, even if modded, over my red one. I have loved how that one plays, but was always wondering about replacing the pickups. I know I like Dimarzios, and feel confident these vintage editions will do what I want with this guitar, and I am ok with the finish checking and bit of mojo it has. I may look for a vintage replacement pick guard, but not too, too worried about that.
Anyhow there you go! I am still playing, though I want to still play more, which will hopefully start to happen as I move toward retirement, and in looking forward, I am in the middle of reconsidering some of what I have accumulated over the years since 2006 and thinning things down to what I really want and use, in a home and going out context. That includes guitars and pedals. I think this old guitar will fit the overall needs better, and allow me to let go of some dead weight and cognitive and physical clutter. The three amps I have will likely all stay for different reasons and use case scenarios. Anyhow, happy old guitar incoming day to me!
