Need help wiring this pickup

This should be pretty easy. I just got this dimarzio Crunchlab pickup. From what I can see I have a red wire but I don't know what that other wire is.

I imagine the red wire goes to the 3 way switch. Right?

But what about that other wire?

According to Dimarzio, red is hot. This should have a 4 wire conductor. http://www.dimarzio.com/sites/default/files/diagrams/4Conductor.pdf

What Punkkitty said. It should have 4, the black one seems like 2 insulated together, so someone must have shortened the green tap.

To answer the op, if you don't need the tap then yes. Red to switch, black to ground on the back of a pot or the switch itself, wherever is convenient.

Thanks guys. I tried to wire it up and I got the bridge and middle positions working but somehow, I screwed up the neck pick up. Whenever I said it on the neck pick up, it completely disengages and loses sound. I triple checked everything and I can't see where the connection got disconnected.

Sounds like you reversed hot and ground on the neck.

Weird. I didn't even touch them and they were working fine before I changed the bridge pickup.

You may have damaged the switch by holding the iron on it too long. I've had that on the cheaper type switches before.

LP toggle or f type?

Bend the leaves a bit to make sure rhey still make contact.

Pin that case make sure you don't have the ground at the switch making contact somewhere it's not supposed to.
