New distortion pedal day.
The DS-1 has never quite done it for me, nor has the Rat. I usually prefer overdrives to distortions, but sometimes I want something more. I had a Suhr Riot Mini, which was great, but sold it when I was going fully acoustic. Thought about snagging another one, but decided to open up the YouTube rabbit hole. I've been a fan of BMF effects ever since the Marc F'n Ford - great pedal, but I only ever used the Purple Nurple side, so I moved mine along. I thought about a Purple Nurple, but still, kept poking...and I found the BMF Great Wide Open. I liked the demos I could find, so I went unto Reverb and found a used one for just under $100, figuring I could move it with minimal or no loss if I didn't like it with my rig.
It arrived today.
I like it with my rig.
The honeymoon period has begun, but I think this one will be sticking around for a while.
