Same here. I think the internet has killed a lot of potential deals at pawn shops. That is, those running the shops look online (Reverb, etc.) and see what folks are asking for gear and tend to use the high end for pricing.

My local pawn shops have been sht for at least 20 yrs. Best you can hope for is a Squier or Cort at laughable prices. I’ve quit bothering to look.

Shops I’ve visited here may have something but it’s usually low grade. Even if it’s nice it’s a condition below what I want at a price I think is above what that condition should bring.

I got one last week and I’m loving it. Didn’t get it in a pawn shop. Close though, back in the old days Midwest Buy & Sell used to be a pawn shop.
